Grapefruit's Journey to the International Brilliance Awards 2024

For us at Grapefruit, our story is one of such moments, a narrative of aspiration and achievement that culminated lately at the International Brilliance Awards 2024. It all started in September 2023 when we decided to enter the International Brilliance Awards 2024. We deliberated on our best fit and chose three categories.

CEO of the Year 

Because we recognize daily how fortunate we are at Grapefruit to have growth-oriented, supportive leaders with open communication. We are lucky to have Georgiana, who day by day motivates us, assists us, and shares in every team's success.

Employer of the Year 

Because anyone who has experienced Grapefruit knows what it means to be supported, valued, and heard. More than that, they understand teamwork and delivering beyond expectations, driven by passion. Here, performance is about our growth and the results we celebrate together.

Brand Brilliance 

Because looking back, we realized our work is fueled by passion and a love for digital. Over time, we've grown and transformed our projects into real successes. Every day, we receive confirmation that we excel in what we do, a fact supported by our numbers and awards.

The email that brought us joy

Two months later, we were announced as finalists in all three categories we applied for. The joy and excitement in our office were beyond words. But after the initial euphoria, we realized something more deep. We understood that we were truly seen and appreciated, and that Grapefruit was beginning to leave its mark on the international market. Moreover, we were thrilled to be invited to the awards gala, set for the first month of 2024 in London.

Thoughts on the way to London

January 2024 arrived, and with it, Georgiana and Flavian's journey to London. Our expectations were straightforward: meet new people, network, celebrate each other's successes, and experience an international business event. We never entertained the thought of winning; we viewed this event as an opportunity to engage with global business leaders.

And the winner is…

At the Gala, we were amazed to meet many open-minded individuals eager to share ideas and experiences. We dined together, made friends, and connected with other finalists. Being alongside global business leaders and representatives from renowned organizations such as Deloitte UK, Dubai Police, AstraZeneca, and Qatar Airways, was in itself a significant achievement for us.

When the award ceremony began, we felt genuine happiness for those called to the stage. We applauded and shared in their ecstasy. As the first category we were finalists in was announced, a fleeting thought of “what if” crossed our minds. However, we quickly returned to enjoying the event. Especially when the Silver Award for CEO of the Year was announced, we hardly dared to hope for more. But then, to our amazement, the Golden - CEO of the Year award was announced for Grapefruit: Georgiana Dragomir. The feeling was indescribable, the emotion overwhelming, and the shock palpable.

After this unforgettable moment, we returned to our table amid applause and congratulations. We took photos, chatted with those around us, and tried to ease our beaming smiles. We sat, thinking nothing could top this moment. But then, our name was announced again. Brand Brilliance Grand Prize. The winner is… Grapefruit! This was a moment of sheer joy, a second call to the stage to receive an award we never dared dream of. It was a moment to remember, a time when our years of hard work were recognized and applauded from all corners of the hall.

We returned to our table surrounded by a roar of applause and many words of praise, but it all seemed like an echo. We were in awe of what was happening, and it felt surreal. The other finalists took photos of us, filmed us, and shared in our joy, just as we did for the winners of other categories. The networking before and after the awards at the party was incredibly enriching. Being there, in the same room, already conferred a status we all cherished. The awards didn't change our atmosphere; rather, they allowed us to collectively celebrate success.

It wasn't just a dream

After the party, we returned to the hotel, delighted by what had happened. The next morning, we awoke to dozens of missed calls and messages on various platforms. There were requests for TV interviews, newspaper interviews, press releases, and many congratulations. It was then that we truly grasped the magnitude of what had occurred. And do you know why? Because we were unprepared. We had yet to anticipate winning, but it was then that we realized we deserved to be finalists and the awards we received. For all the hard work over the years, dedication, perseverance, resilience, and authenticity.

We barely had time to process before we started preparing press releases, answering calls, and organizing our thoughts to share. Even in this process, authenticity was key. Humbleness, we believe, is the word that best describes our post-event reactions. When the press asked, “How did you win?” our first answer was simple: we didn't know! At the time, we still couldn't figure out all the reasons for these awards. But later, we remembered every moment that made us deserving of everything that happened to us.

And this is just the beginning

All our plans for expanding into the international market have been coming to life for the last few years. But now, with these awards and this recognition in the international market, we realize our path is becoming more and more secure. The opportunities that are starting to appear only help to brighten our path to success even more.

We returned home and celebrated this Grapefruit success with our team. Looking back, we can only be glad that a Romanian company has shone in the international spotlight. Precisely for this reason, we hope that more Romanian entrepreneurs will gain confidence in their work, and in the results they achieve, and venture more into the international arena because moments of glory are waiting to be seized.

Let's have the courage to dream, sometimes far beyond our borders. Because through hard work, dedication, and authenticity, anything is possible. The confirmation of our efforts is evident, and any company that sets its sights on something great becomes award-worthy.
