UX audit: find what is costing you conversions

A UX audit from Grapefruit is a 2 to 3 week review of your website or app that finds the usability problems costing you conversions, leads or support calls. We combine expert heuristic review, analytics and funnel analysis, user testing and an accessibility check, then deliver fixes ranked by business impact and effort, including quick wins.

How AI changes UX audit at Grapefruit

Researchers validate every finding with real users. If your product includes an AI assistant, we audit its conversations too.

Related work from our UX/UI Design practice

The migration of the website was both a challenging and complex project and the support provided by the Grapefruit team was very good, and they were hands-on through the entire technical process. Also, the fact that there was an Agile project management approach in place from start to the end, made the entire way of working efficient and clear from one iteration to the other and I really appreciated the collaboration with them.

UX Audit: frequently asked questions

Cannot find your question? Ask a senior specialist directly.

What is a UX audit?

A UX audit is a structured review of a website or app that identifies usability problems, friction and missed opportunities in key user journeys. It combines expert evaluation, analytics and testing with real users, and ends with prioritised recommendations rather than a list of opinions.

What do you check during a UX audit?

Navigation and information architecture, key journeys such as sign-up, search, checkout or applications, forms and error handling, content clarity, mobile experience, performance as users feel it, and accessibility basics. We focus on the journeys that matter most to your business goals.

How long does a UX audit take?

Typically 2 to 3 weeks from kick-off to readout. The timeline depends on how many journeys and platforms are in scope and how quickly we get analytics access and recruit participants for testing.

Is a UX audit only useful before a redesign?

No. Before a redesign it tells you what to keep and what to change. On a live product it finds quick wins that can lift conversion within weeks. Many clients repeat it yearly to keep the product aligned with changing customer behaviour.

What happens after the audit?

You own the report and can implement it with any team. Many clients ask us to fix the quick wins, run a conversion optimization programme or redesign the most problematic journeys. The audit becomes the scoped backlog for that work.

Does the UX audit cover accessibility?

It includes an accessibility check of the key journeys, which flags the most important WCAG issues. If the European Accessibility Act applies to your service, we recommend a full accessibility audit for a complete conformance picture.
