Software testing and quality assurance services

Grapefruit's quality assurance and software testing services catch defects before your users do. Our QA engineers run functional, regression, performance, compatibility, accessibility and security testing, manual and automated, from the first sprint. We test products we build and platforms built by other teams, and report risks in language product owners can act on.

Signs you need this

  • Every release breaks something that used to work.
  • Users report bugs before your team finds them.
  • Your platform has never been load tested before a campaign or peak season.
  • Developers test their own code and there is no independent QA.

What we deliver

  • Test strategy

Risk-based plan covering what to test, how and when.

  • Functional and regression testing

Manual and automated test suites for critical journeys.

  • Performance and load testing

Behaviour under realistic and peak traffic.

  • Accessibility and compatibility testing

WCAG checks and browser and device coverage.

  • Security testing

Common vulnerability checks aligned with OWASP guidance.

AI in this service

How AI changes quality assurance & testing at Grapefruit

AI helps QA cover more ground: generating test cases from requirements, drafting automated test scripts and spotting patterns in failures. Our QA engineers review every generated test. For products with AI features, we also test what traditional QA misses: answer accuracy, hallucinations, prompt injection and behaviour when the model is uncertain.

Quality Assurance & Testing: frequently asked questions

Cannot find your question? Ask a senior specialist directly.

What types of testing do you provide?

Functional, regression, compatibility, performance and load, API, accessibility, user acceptance support and security testing, both manual and automated. The mix depends on your risks: a campaign platform needs load testing, a bank portal needs security and accessibility, an app needs device coverage.

When should QA start in a project?

From the first sprint. QA engineers review requirements and designs for testability, then test every increment. Defects found early cost far less to fix than defects found after launch, and release dates stop slipping because of late surprises.

Can you test software built by another vendor?

Yes. Independent QA is useful when you want an objective view of a vendor's quality or before accepting a delivery. We start with a short assessment and then test releases or build an automated regression suite your team can keep running.

Manual or automated testing: which do we need?

Both. Automation covers stable, repeated checks on critical journeys so every release is verified quickly. Manual exploratory testing finds usability problems and unexpected behaviour that scripts miss. We recommend the balance based on release frequency and product maturity.

How do you test AI features?

We build evaluation sets with expected answers, measure accuracy and hallucination rates, try adversarial inputs such as prompt injection, and check behaviour at the edges: missing data, ambiguous questions and hand-off to humans. Results are reported as risks with recommended guardrails.
